will be fined $20 per each meeting missed below the minimum meeting
requirement.

by the Executive Board will receive credit for one meeting for purposes
of the attendance requirement.
- 3. Any active member of the SSOA who wishes to officiate who does
not attend an interpretation meeting within New Jersey will be fined
$50 and will not be eligible to officiate games during that season.
- 4. Any member of the SSOA who fails to pay the assignor’s fee
within 30 days after receiving their bill will be fined $50 and
will not receive any further officiating assignments until all arrears
are paid. The fine assessed will be paid to the SSOA.
- 5. Any member who misses any game assignment without adequate
cause will be fined one game fee. A second or subsequent fine for
the same offense will result in the matter being referred to the
Professional Standards Committee for appropriate action and recommendations.
- 6. All fines and assessments levied against any SSOA member must
be paid within 30 days after the official is notified of the fine
or assessment. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the
suspension of membership in the SSOA.
- 7. A varsity official that arrives later than five minutes prior
to the start of a scheduled match shall officiate the junior varsity
or sub varsity match. The official who takes the place of another

- 8. A member who has been inactive and who has not paid dues for
two years and who now wishes to resume officiating matches will

reinstated upon payment of all outstanding fees.

any member whose exam is not returned in a timely manner, as determined
by the Professional Standards Committee. Failure to achieve a passing
grade on the open book test will result in a retest. Failure to
achieve a passing grade on the retest will result in the temporary
loss of assignments and attendance at a mandatory training session,
administered by the Chapter Interpreter, followed by a closed book
retest and for which the official be assessed a fee of one varsity
game. Failing to achieve an 85 percent passing grade on the closed
book retest will result in a one-year suspension, pending a hearing
before the Professional Standards Committee, which shall suggest
appropriate procedures for possible reinstatement.
- 10. Varsity officials who are “inactive” for a period of three
years and who wish to return to active status for varsity games
must work one season at the sub-varsity level, will be subject to
an appropriate assessment, and will be required to pass the SSOA
chapter exam before resuming officiating varsity matches.
- 11. An official who officiates as referee in the Shore Conference
Boys’ or Girls’ Finals will be ineligible to officiate another final

- 12. Members who are elected to the SSOA Hall of Fame are exempt
from paying regular SSOA dues.
- 13. Members who have active status in another chapter as well
as the SSOA must take the SSOA refresher test and achieve a passing
grade of 85 percent, attend the SSOA rules clinic, and attend at
least half of the SSOA meetings.

which the official uniform [including shirt, approved foot wear,

will be counted.
- 18. All SSOA officials must work at least 8 games
