Shore Soccer Officials (SSOA) traveling to Non Shore Conference schools on behalf of Shore Conference Schools

Statement:

The SSOA has adopted a new policy effective July 31, 2002. The policy states that the schools requesting a SSOA official to travel outside the Shore Conference to a Non Shore Conference school/site will pay a travel fee as follows to the traveling SSOA official. Either

1. A varsity game check if the official's one-way driving mileage (official's house to game site) is forty (40) miles or more. Or
2. A sub-varsity game check if the official's one-way driving mileage (official's house to game site) is less then forty (40) miles.

Background info:

This situation usually occurs for State Tournament games and some major Non Shore Conference games with officials working as split crews. That is, one official from each of the participating school's local officials association works that game. This means that the SSOA official will be paid a game fee for working the game from the home school plus a travel fee from the sending Shore Conference School.

Conclusion:

Enclosed is a form concurring that your school either chooses to pay the travel fee or prefers to use the home schools officials (non split crew) for these games. Failure to return the enclosed agreement by June 1st, 2002 will be considered a default choice of using the home schools local officials for the non conference games.

Enclosed is a second identical form to be kept by you in case you decide to change your mind.
